Women Together Project – ‘Tea and Confidence Workshops’ and our ‘Women’s Art Groups’

As part of our new Women Together Project, starting in January 2020, we have some exciting new free activities for our female learners including our ‘Tea and Confidence Workshops’ and our ‘Women’s Art Groups’. The Tea and Confidence Workshops are learning sessions designed around making new friends, improving language skills, gaining new knowledge and building confidence. Women Together Project

The Women Together Project is an exciting new Wai Yin Society project starting in January 2020. The project is for BME women who are economically inactive and it aims to build their confidence, skills and work readiness by involving them in activities which boost their sense of wellbeing and self-esteem. The project activities are available at our Welcome Centre, in Cheetham Hill, and our headquarters, in the city centre. Wai Yin Courses in Salford

Wai Yin have just finished their first ESOL course in Salford called ESOL for Volunteering and Active Citizenship in partnership with Salford City College’s Community Learning Team. This course was held in Little Hulton where we worked with the Big Local, who gave us a venue for the course, as well as providing support by publicising it amongst their well established Salford partners and liaising with potential students who called into their premises to register. Wai Yin Society is a delivery partner of the Motiv8 programme, providing holistic support to empower and support Motiv8 participants. This includes IT classes, work club support, money and debt advice, ESOL courses and befriending, lunch and leisure classes. Motiv8 transforms people’s lives by helping them overcome the challenges and barriers they face to get back on track. By improving people’s wellbeing, confidence and employability skills, we increase people’s chances of accessing training or finding a job.
