Cancer Support

Wai Yin’s Cancer Support project is being delivered to offer support to Chinese people affected by cancer living in the City of Manchester.

The project uses fully trained volunteers to provide flexible and individualised support based on peoples needs. The volunteers are from the Chinese community and between them speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Hakka and English so can help with any cultural or language problems Chinese people affected by cancer may be facing.

The volunteers are able to provide a range or practical tasks or emotional support. In addition they are able to recommend people for small non-means tested grants if required which can be used in various ways to improve an individuals quality of life.

The service is available across Greater Manchester.
