The OneVoice Project started in October 2012 and is set to run for 12 months. Wai Yin is pleased to announce that Hermine Kaldjob is the new community organiser for the Manchester area. She transferred over from Tameside where she was a community organiser funded by the Office of Civil Society, a key part of the Government’s flagship Big Society programme.
The principle aim is to identify , recruit, train and support women volunteers from diverse communities. The approach adopted is to genuinely listen to these women, find out what they love to do, and what are the issues/challenges that they would like to tackle in order to change their lives and communities for the better. This reflects the ethos of community empowerment which Hermine has developed in Tameside.
