Womens’ Vote Centenary

As part of our series of womens’ vote centenary events this year, there will be an “equaliteas” event at the Welcome Centre, Cheetham Hill. This is an open to all event.  There will a drama about the original suffragettes in China, role play demonstration of the current ballot process in Manchester, and a short presentation explaining the UK parliamentary system. Parents’ Wellbeing Group

We have started a parents’ group which will be running for five consecutive weeks on Tuesdays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. This group welcomes all Chinese speaking mothers. It will be focusing on the improvement of their well-being, while reducing parental stress with mindfulness activities such as meditation. Wai Yin Society Meets Consul General

I had the pleasure of meeting with the Manchester Consul General, Dr Sun Dali, on 19th May. Dr Sun is returning to Beijing, and I would like to congratulate him on his work here in Manchester, and wish him all the best for the future. 

Parenting Talks

Wai Yin Society will be giving two parenting talks, this month, at our Dr Sylvia Sham Centre. The first is on Thursday 21st June 2018, 10:30-13:00. The second will be on Thursday 28th June, 10:30-13:00. The subject matters are, “Cultural Adaptation in the Growth and Life of British Chinese Adolescents” and “Intergenerational Communication between Parents and Children of Chinese families in the UK” respectively.
