Lord Mayor’s Charity Account

We are delighted to receive a sum of £1,000 in aid of Wai Yin Society from the Lord Mayor of Manchester’s Charity Account. This was granted by Councillor Naeem ul Hassan, who held the office of Lord Mayor for 2013-2014. Thank you very much. We intend to use this much needed money for our Welcome Centre.

Urban Fish Farm Update 养鱼场

At the end of August, a group of Wai Yin members travelled down to Gloucester to search for eels. There is an old nursery rhyme which goes; “Doctor Foster went to Gloucester in a shower of rain. He stood in a puddle right up to his middle and never went there again!” Well there was plenty of rain but we had such a wonderful time, that I am sure that we will be going again. HLF Young Roots Project

The project is progressing well. We have carried out 12 evening sessions and one team building day since April 2014. The young people have enjoyed all the activities and they are making good friendships in the group. They are meeting on Thursday evenings from 17:00 to 19:30. They have gathered information about the Chinese Moon Festival and preparing to interview other communities about the Moon, and its significance in their cultures. ETE Learning Centre now in Swan Street, Manchester

Please be advised that we have already completed the move of our ETE Learning Centre and staff, which are now based in our Headquarters at 66- 68 Swan Street, Manchester, M4 5JU. We hope that our service users can find the way. It is only five minutes walk from the Shudehill Bus/Tram station, next to the Arndale Shopping Centre. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the landlord for providing a most successful tenancy in Clarendon House, 81 Mosley Street, during the past three years. Thank you again!
