Chair – Wai Yin Board of Trustees wins Mulan Award

Wai Yin at the House of Lords

Congratulations! Juanita Yau, Chairperson of Wai Yin Society, was invited to attend the House of Lords to collect an award. She was the 1st runner up for CIAC & Shaftesbury Woman Volunteer of the  Year Award 2015 The Award Ceremony took place on Monday 19th October 2015 from 3.30pm – 5.00pm at the House of Lords, kindly hosted by The Lord Sheikh on behalf of the Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC). Traditional afternoon tea was served overlooking the beautiful River Thames with spectacular performances.

Annual Educational Visit 2015

Recently, Wai Yin service users enjoyed their annual summer educational visit. 新近, 我们有一个前往英格兰南部 This year, the trip went to Warwick Castle and Shakespeare’s birthplace. 我们看到莎士比亚的房子,华威城堡 It was very enjoyable and popular. Two full coaches went. 这是令人愉快的和流行, 我们在两辆公交车去. We hope that you can join us next year. 明年, 明年我们希望你能来,我们可以一起去  

Birthday Celebration of University Student on Placement!

Recently, Jeff celebrated his 21st birthday with us at Wai Yin Society. Jeff and Ariel (pictured at the front, right and second from left respectively) are two university social work students here on summer placements with us. We value our student placements who do valuable work with our service users…Thank you!!!

SEN Week Volunteering Programme at Wai Yin

Wai Yin Society is introducing two growth workshops to parents or individuals who are interested in learning about some of the most common types of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in young people. Some typical characteristics and possible intervention of SEN will be discussed in both workshops.  These workshops will be held on 21st and 23rd July at Wai Yin’s main office.   For further information, please contact Jeff or Ariel on 0161 833 0377.

10K RUN CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congratulations and Thank You to all our 10K Runners and Supporters. The Great Manchester 10K on 10 May 2015 was a huge success, and great fun was had by all runners and supporters alike! We were very lucky with the mild weather conditions on the day with sunshine and no rain. CEO, Dr Sylvia Sham was an inspiration around the course, even managing a sprint towards the end, who said afterwards, “We are so pleased to have the opportunity at Wai Yin Society to be actively engaged within the Manchester community on such a wonderful day!” The fastest runner in […]
