We are engaging in a number of activities this month to promote International Womens Day 2018. On Saturday, there will be a “walk for women” in the city centre. We are going to meet at the Chinatown arch at 1pm and from there, link up with the main procession outside central library.  A very big “thank you” to all the visitors who celebrated with us, and staff and volunteers who turned out on Sunday 18th February in Albert Square to assist with Manchester’s Chinese New Year of the Dog celebrations, which raised awareness of  Wai Yin Society’s services among the general public. This year’s festival was arguably the best ever! We were pleased to welcome a delegation of visitors from Jiangxi Provincial Women’s Federation, People’s Republic of China, to our offices on Friday 27th October. I would like to inform you that Woon Cheng has raised £560 from running the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 15th October, and she completed it in 2hours and 30 minutes!   We would like to give her a big thanks for her fantastic effort, to raise money for Wai Yin Society, and also to prepare for this race event.   She is our STAR women runner.  Well Done!
