Embargoed until 00:01 hours on 25th March 2014 Wai Yin Society wins Heritage Lottery Fund support Wai Yin Society in Manchester has successfully obtained a £30,200 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an exciting new project, ‘Happiness and Joy at the Mid Autumn Festival’, being delivered across Greater Manchester. Led by a group of Chinese young people, the project will be an exploration of the Chinese Mid Autumn Moon Festival, which falls around each September.

Celebrating Chinese Year of Horse

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Manchester has provided consistent support for the work of local Chinese community organisations for over decades. As the vice-chair of Wai Yin Chinese Women Society, a charity which provides services to the Chinese and other minority groups in the North West of England, I had the pleasure of attending a Chinese New Year Celebration at Mauldeth Hall organised by the Consulate General in Manchester on the 28th January this year.

Graduation Ceremony 2013

Wai Yin was a hub of activity and excitement on the morning of Tuesday 10th September. Around 100 learners, with their families and friends were gathered to be proudly presented with their certificates for their hard work and effort during the past year for a variety of ESOL courses.
