Wai Yin Society Welcome Centre “Reaching Out to M8”celebrates after receiving funding from the National Lottery to help local people in disadvantaged areas A leading North West Charity, Wai Yin Society, is today celebrating after being awarded £496,000 over four years in National Lottery funding to support its work with local people in North Manchester. The OPeNs Project is a project to support older BAME people in Crumpsall and Cheetham. It is a Wai Yin Project in partnership with Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) and Communities for All. The project was originally designed to support older BAME people with a wide range of positive activities which would prevent social isolation and promote improved health and wellbeing. We are holding an event to showcase the wonderful range of skills that we have at the Welcome Centre from rearing chickens and gardening to cooking and playing guitar.
