We are delighted to announce that the Wai Yin Society has been commissioned by Ambition for Ageing (AfA), as one of ten organisations, to deliver a research project as part of a wider programme, “Ageing Equally?”
- We will be researching how Chinese older people in Manchester, especially disabled people and those who speak different community languages, can grow old and happy
- Specifically, we will be exploring traditional Chinese beliefs of growing old, as well as difficulties faced by the older disadvantaged Chinese community in their daily lives, and gaps in services provided in order to reduce isolation and loneliness. We will work with Members of Sheung Lok Wellbeing Centre of Wai Yin Society, and the primary research method will be interviews.
