Mental health influences how we think, feel, and behave. It affects how we handle stress, build relationships, and make decisions. Yet despite growing awareness, many people still struggle in silence due to stigma or lack of understanding. Mental Health Awareness Week aims to challenge these barriers by encouraging open conversations and promoting education around mental wellbeing. It runs from 11th to 17th May 2026.
Each year focuses on a specific theme, The theme for Mental Health Awareness week is ‘Action’.
This theme focuses on turning awareness into real, practical change—encouraging individuals, workplaces, and communities to actively support mental health rather than just talk about it. At Wai Yin Society, we actively support our service users at our community centres, for example:

Do remember that looking after our mental wellbeing deserves the same attention as our physical health!
