World Cancer Day is a leading international awareness day. Held every 4 February, it’s an initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) aiming to raise worldwide awareness, improving education and catalysing personal, collective and government action.
This year’s World Cancer Day’s theme, “Close the Care Gap”, is all about celebrating progress, and enabling more people to seek and obtain care. Partnership with ‘Answer Cancer’ has funded one of our projects to promote getting screened. One of our Sheung Lok Centre users shares her story of the importance of cancer checks, details below:
