Well Done “SUPER STARS”, Louise and our wonderful volunteers! Wai Yin Society’s good reputation is spreading far and wide.
We’ve just launched our new website at our Chinese New Year dinner, and we are very happy to finally have all of our hard work pay off. Â We have worked for weeks to have our website ready, and it is finally here.
We have added some new features that you might like to look at. Â First of all, our home page. Â We’ve separated all of our information into sections so that you can find everything you are looking for easily. Â Our Family Services, our Education, Training & Â Employment Services, and our Health & Social Care services can all be seen as soon as you come to the website.
We also have a new events publishing system, which will allow for you to see all of our events, where we are holding them and, for some events, you can even reserve your place right from our website! Â We hope to be making more use of this feature as our website evolves and develops.
We hope that you enjoy using our website. Â If you would like to suggest new features, you can get in touch with us. Â We look forward to hearing from you.
The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Manchester has provided consistent support for the work of local Chinese community organisations for over decades. As the vice-chair of Wai Yin Chinese Women Society, a charity which provides services to the Chinese and other minority groups in the North West of England, I had the pleasure of attending a Chinese New Year Celebration at Mauldeth Hall organised by the Consulate General in Manchester on the 28th January this year.
The event was very well attended. Local Chinese residents, students, business people and representatives from the Consul General’s office were gathered together celebrating Chinese New Year of Horse.
I received a warm welcome from Consul General Pan Yundong, his wife Consul Zhu Yu and Vice Consul General Zhou Haicheng. Consul General Pan and Consul Zhu both were in beautiful traditional Chinese outfits, which added extra festival spirits to the celebration.
On behalf of Wai Yin I would like to thank the Consul for all their much valued work in supporting Chinese students and residents in the Greater Manchester area. We would also like to wish China, our motherland, a happy and prosperous New Year, may China continues its economic growth and influence on the world stage.
