“Estimates vary, but research suggests that 20% of children have a mental health problem in any given year, and about 10% at any one time.”
Understanding The Lifetime Impacts, Mental Health Foundation (2005)
It is not unusual if you feel disorganised or confused when something happens, but it is important to recognise how does it happen and how to prevent further harm from it. Mental health awareness is to help you understand more about the effect of the change in emotion and circumstances. It is wise to know more about the effect of emotional impact and find a way to resolve it before it gets worse.
The Comic Relief Mental Health Awareness for Young People Project is working with different agencies and wants to give you more information about what you are going through. We have awareness workshops, one to one sessions and group sessions to pass the essential information about mental health awareness. If you are worried about something or someone you care about, please contact us and see how we can assist.
If you want to make a referral to the Young Person's Mental Health Project, please download our referral form (Word Format, 281kb), complete it and send it via email to family_unit@waiyin.org.uk.
