Youth & Young Carers

Many young people from the Chinese community experience conflict with their parents who have traditional cultural expectations. Young Chinese sometimes experience a conflict of identity and expectations. The Youth Project helps to support young people to believe in themselves, to be proud of being both Chinese and British and to use their talents and skills to serve their community. Early adulthood presents challenges and opportunities. We offer young people the opportunity to realise their potential and contribute fully to the world in which they live.

Services for young people include:

  • Access to Information Technology training
  • Drug and alcohol information and support
  • Employment, education and vocational training
  • Language & Emotional support
  • Learning about leadership, self-confidence and self-respect
  • Leisure and social activities
  • Partnership with youth services and other agencies
  • Serving all communities; i.e., fundraising, St John's Ambulance, ALL FM radio
  • Support and help with housing and benefits advice
  • Support to young carers in order for them to live a normal live

The Youth Project is open for all young people aged between 13 and 25, living in the Manchester and surrounding area.
