Education, Training & Employment

Please note that we are no longer taking new learners for courses in the 2009/2010 academic year.

Education is the key to self-improvement.  Wai Yin Chinese Women Society is proud of its record of educational achievement.  Over 350 people take our classes each year and this number is growing.  Women and men ages 16 and over from many diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds use and benefit from our education, training, and employment services.  Our tutors are experienced and highly qualified, and our learners are well-motivated to succeed.  Above all, we believe that learning should be good fun and that learners will return for more because they enjoy learning.

We provide the following courses:

  • ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
    • Pre-Entry Level to Level 1, accredited by Trinity College London
  • ICT (Information Communications Technology)
    • Entry Level 3 to Level 1, accredited by NOCN
    • Photoshop Taster class
  • Chinese Language Courses
  • Childcare NVQ Level 2 (provided by BoltonWISE)

Wai Yin's Education, Training, and Employment Project is a franchise of Manchester Adult Education Service (MAES). They fund and audit the quality of our service.

We also host a Mandarin Corner in partnership with the Chinese Arts Centre for people who want to engage with Chinese culture and language.
