Sessional ESOL Tutors qualified to Level 4 are needed to deliver courses of varying duration to various target groups. These positions support the work of the Education Training and Employment (ETE) Unit.
Wai Yin Chinese Women Society seeks ESOL tutors to support its adult learning programmes between September 2009 and July 2010.
Work will be based mainly at Wai Yin’s headquarters in Manchester City Centre, China Town although there may be some off-site learning delivery at other community venues across Greater Manchester. We deliver 7 days a week, and we also need tutors available for cover.
The role will involve:
- Delivery of ESOL classes at pre-entry, entry level and levels 1 and 2 following Trinity awarding body examinations
- Contextualised learning relevant to sector / job interest areas including employability and citizenship.
- Lesson preparation, learner evaluations and all appropriate record keeping in line with Ofsted and LSC inspection and audit requirements.
- Working with and supporting Volunteer Teaching Assistants.
- Participation in training and Continuous Professional Development (you will be remunerated for this time). You will be expected to be or become a member of the Institute for Learning.
We are looking for experienced tutors and are willing to invest in your professional development. Experience of working with community providers is preferred.
