Wai Yin Chinese Women Society seeks an “Active Citizens” Project Worker to develop the Adult Citizens Project which is funded by the NLDC (Neighbourhood Learning of Deprived Community) fund from MAES (Manchester Adult Education Services).  The main task of the post is to provide learning and training activities to economically inactive people who are encouraged to volunteer, so as to promote Active Citizenship to the community.  Many of these beneficiaries will be Chinese, and the ability to communicate in Mandarin/Cantonese is required.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting learners particularly from Chinese community or other ethnic minority groups.  Strong candidates will have a track record of working with adult learners and have experience of working with tutors and the supporting staff, able to input data, and with experience of supporting learners to meet their learning needs.
