Learners

Many young people who grew up in UK are of similar family background: i.e. running family owned restaurants or take-away food businesses. They also experience problems in communicating with their family members, leading relationship and emotional issues. They are caught between two cultures, often resulting in long term family conflict. Most of the newly migrated Chinese young people reported that family breakdown and tensions are contributed a lot of their sense of unhappiness and stress.

The Youth Project aims to provide young people with the skills and knowledge to achieve their full potential by increasing their confidence and self-esteem, as well as improving their language and communication skills, enabling them to integrate easier into British culture and society. We help to support young people to believe in themselves, to be proud of being both Chinese and British. Early adulthood presents challenges and opportunities.
